Fresh TV Inc. announced today that TELETOON has ordered more episodes of two of their animated shows geared at tweens and teens: Total Drama, the Musical and Stoked.
Fresh TV’s unconventional ‘reality’ cartoon series, Total Drama now takes on a new musical spin for season three with Total Drama, the Musical. This follows the wildly successful first season Total Drama Island, and the yet to air second season of Total Drama Action. Created by Fresh TV partners Tom McGillis and Jennifer Pertsch, Total Drama, the Musical takes 15 lucky contestants all over the globe to compete in outrageous and embarrassing challenges and break into spontaneous musical numbers in each episode. Favourite contestants from previous seasons will return for this globetrotting challenge which is sure to contain alliances, backstabbing and more than a few tender moments in true Total Drama style.
Stoked, which will premiere on TELETOON in Spring 2009, is now ramped-up to an order of 52 episodes from the previously announced 26 episode order. Stoked is an animated situational comedy about teens who come together one summer to work at world renowned Surfer’s Paradise Resort – home of the best surfing in the country. For twelve weeks they will spend their first summer away from home, work hard, and most importantly, have the opportunity to surf on their days off.
“TELETOON is a perfect fit for our shows, and we are ecstatic about continuing our partnership with these great series,” said Tom McGillis, Executive Producer at Fresh TV. “We are committed to building on the success of Total Drama Island by providing cutting-edge material that resonates with the TELETOON audience.”
“These renewals underscore our faith in Fresh TV’s reputation as a leader in tween and teen oriented productions,” said Carole Bonneau Vice President, Programming. “In a competitive environment, TDI brought TELETOON something innovative and funny which viewers of all ages enjoyed. Stoked promises to bring TELETOON fans a wicked ride with tons of laughs, surfing and great characters.”

Cake Distribution and Fresh TV have entered into a new worldwide distribution deal for Total Drama Action, a sequel to Fresh’s hit animated television series Total Drama Island. The new show promises to reach a wider market than Total Drama Island, which airs on TELETOON in Canada and Cartoon Network in the U.S.
Total Drama Action picks up where Total Drama Island left off as it takes 15 of the original contestants to a new location—a deserted film studio lot. Here our contestants will be exposed to new challenges with the chance to win an even bigger prize. The series will add a number of talk-show episodes where former contestants and fans comment on the competition.
Commissioned by TELETOON, Total Drama Action is created by Fresh TV’s Tom McGillis and Jennifer Pertsch. The show is currently in production and is slated to premiere in the spring of 2009.
